Matthew 5-7 records The Sermon on the Mount, a foundational teaching of Jesus given to His disciples, likely soon after calling them. This sermon outlines the heart of kingdom living, going beyond outward actions to address intentions and desires. Jesus likely repeated these teachings in various settings, adapting them as seen in Luke’s Sermon on the Plain (Luke 6:17-49). His words amazed listeners then, just as they do today (Matthew 7:28-29).
These principles remain relevant, calling believers to a life of righteousness, reconciliation, and obedience. Below is a video of me reciting The Sermon on the Mount from memory—feel free to listen, watch, and read along. If you enjoy it, follow me on Instagram (@woody_brohm) for more.

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24-25)
